Backstage pass to my product launch

By

I’m currently working on two product launches for later in the year, and both projects involve the following:

  • Outsourcing
  • Project management
  • Product creation (videos, audio, ebooks)
  • Interviewing
  • Webinar recording

I thought it would be useful to show you exactly what’s involved as the launch builds, so here’s your first backstage pass.

This video gives a glimpse of the video recording process … see exactly how it’s done … and how messy my work area is :-)

I’ll be posting more of these as the project develops, right up to launch.

Looking forward to your comments...

I use the AT2020 USB microphone (Audio-Technica) which I just love … the sound quality is superb, but you must use it with a windshield as you’ll get a lot of ‘pop’ on it. Do a search on YouTube and you’ll find all sorts of demos with it (ie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxPQ5QXVa6w). It’s a real quality piece of kit and sells for just under £110 on Amazon.co.uk: http://paul-recommends.com/info/AT2020, though it is available elsewhere too.

  6. Hi Paul

The photo you use on the webinars must be an old one as seeing you “LIVE” tells me that you are older than I thought.

Looks like an effective setup you have there, I’ll get there one of these days.

    Keep up the good work

Hi Richard, the photos I use are all ‘studio’ shots so they’re a lot more forgiving than a video.

I’m 45, so nowhere near as young as many of the guys who are in this business.

In my defence, I’d been working for about 14 hours when I shot that video, so I was pretty tired … that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it :-)

  7. Hi Paul a very professional looking set up

I noticed your most important piece of kit “your cup of tea”
thanks for the great webinars paul I have learned a ton
I am trying to do a voice over for one of my products , but its a lot harder
than it looks or sounds “is that the right phrase?”
maybe you could do a webinar on sound recording
    Cheers Mick

What are you using to do your voiceover Mick, and is it over music? Paul

Hi Paul, Great to see your work area.. looks like mine with the studio board over to the side.. ahha.. Mine is a 24/8 bus mackie board tho and yours looks like a broadcast board.
A suggestion for the script/production sheet.. Get a music stand!!!
I use my music stand and shorten it and put it on my desk top then I don’t have to look down to get my script happening.
Thanks for sharing your process.. I look forward to seeing your whole product soon!!!
    Take care friend,
    Adrienne
